The next morning, the Governess is nicer to Zhan than she was the day before. The Governess tells Zhan that she's come to see him because she wants to ask him how his family treats her. Zhan says that he doesn't really know much about the family, but he does know that his son seems "amazing" . The father-son conversation is interrupted by the arrival of Madame Bovary, who wants to know what's been going on with her. When Zhan tells her that she promised to be with her godmother the day she arrived, the Madame asks if she'd like to know about the long-lost family and the "beiming family" , but Zhan refuses to tell her. The Madame also asks Zhan if he's forgotten the warning he gave her the night before, and Zhan responds that he hasn't forgotten it either. He also asks if the Madame has ever wanted to know the night's events, and the Madame says that she has always wanted to find out what happened.
