The chapter opens with Ming's reaction to the news of her father's death. She asks why Ming couldn't bear to hear her tell the whole story. She wonders if she pushed him down, and wonders if it must have been a conspiracy. Ming tells her that she has done a dna test on her father, and that the hospital will not lie about it. Ming says that she will bring xiangxiang with her, but that she won't let him involve himself in any conflicts with the family. She tells him to hang up the phone, and they go to bed. When Ming wakes up, she finds a piece of paper on the bed. Ming gives it to her as a gift. Ming asks what will happen to their relationship without the agreement, and Ming answers that nothing will change.
