In this chapter, Mingke explains to Longshan that she is in love with him, and that he is the only woman in her life. She tells him that she will always love him, even if he is rich and powerful. Mingke then asks Longshan if he wants to marry her, and Longshan replies that he does not want to marry Mingke, but that he will marry her if she will help him. He tells Mingke that he would like her to marry him if she were rich, and Mingke says that she does not believe him. Longshan then asks Mingke if she has heard the conversation between Longshan and him, but Mingke replies that she has already heard it. He then tells Longshan to leave her out of the whole thing, because she is not asking him to forgive her, but to come back to her. He also tells her that she should not blame Longshan for the company's problems, because Longshan is a greedy man who wants to see his company fail. He says that if Longshan asks him to help, Longshan's company will be able to turn around. He adds that Longshan will always be his only woman.
