In this short scene, we get a brief description of the events that have taken place in the six months that have passed since the first meeting between Manette and Laurent. Manette tells Laurent that she has gone to the hospital herself to see if she can speak to him about his feelings for her. He tells her that he will be back soon, but that she should be careful because he is "not so irrational" . Laurent tells Manette that he has not yet put on his underwear, and that he is afraid that the bullets fired at them by the intruders will kill him and Manette. He asks to be let out of the room with him.
