In this chapter, we are introduced to the "rivalry" between San and Chiyuki, who are both models. San complains to Chiyuki that he has to go to the runway to have a "battle" with him, since he is the "best model" in the world. He asks if she is still at her best, and she replies that she is not. He tells her that she can still have a beautiful walk even if she isn't at her "best" . She asks him to leave her in charge of the walk, but he refuses, saying that he is a short model and that a "beautful" walk is not enough for him. He says that he will talk to her, and that his thoughts and feelings have already been conveyed to her.
