The chapter opens with a discussion of how long it will take for a fashion designer to get his or her first collection out in the real world. The narrator tells us that it can take six months to get a collection out, but that he'll be able to do it in "two or three" or "two and a half" or even "half a year" if they're lucky. He also tells us about the upcoming Paris fashion week, where he's planning to go with his friend, Chiyuki San. He's also planning to meet up with another young fashion designer named Toh Aano, who's just graduated from college. The chapter ends with the narrator telling us that if he doesn't make it to Paris in three or four years, then he won't be successful.
