The chapter opens on the fourth floor of an office building. It's the last day of the month, and the students are supposed to report back to their supervisor. The students are excited to be back at school, but they're also nervous because they haven't been in school for six months. They're nervous because the supervisor is supposed to give them assignments and instructions, but the students don't really know how to do those assignments. They just have to do the same tasks every day, and that's a waste of time.
