In this chapter, we learn that the author is studying at a book shop, and that he admires the work of a famous author named shintaro yakuzawa. The author tells us that he's also covering fashion week in Toyo, and he wants to be a part of the literature section of the show. He wants to write about a brand that can potentially represent Japan in the future, provided that the brand succeeds in its first collection show, and even if the show fails, the brand can survive if the brand shows promise. He tells her to think of what makes up the brand, and then he suggests that they hem the edge of the dress so that it won't be frayed. He says he'll do it, but first he needs to shorten the dress to fit fujito's size. He's worried that the edge is too close to ground, so he has to hem it by hand. He also needs to use a sewing machine that's never been used before, because the needle is missing.
