In this chapter, the young protagonist is introduced to the geika festival, a fashion show in which young people compete to be the best designer. He is very excited to be a part of such an event, which he describes as "exceeding and exciting." He is also impressed by the fact that a student who does not usually do great work can still create something that will surprise the audience.
