About This Chapter
The airship is about to take off, but the people of Odhia have already fled south to the south, so the airship will have to wait until the rumblings arrive. Azumabito suggests that they cut down all the explosives in the air and jettison them so that they don't collide with the ship. The airship will take off anyway, he says, and he wants to live in peace. He asks if they're going to kill him to save humanity, since he's strayed so far from home. He's just not wearing it yet. He wants to get back to his dead comrades. He doesn't want to be the only one who's running away. He says that he must do his duty as a soldier and inspect all the equipment. He tells the airship commander that they can still stop the rumbling, but that they need to work together to do what needs to be done. They can still close the fuel tanks if they have to, but they won't be able to do so if the rumbling comes. They'll have to stay and fight. He appoints him the commander of the Survey Corps, which means that he'll be in charge of the entire airship fleet.
