About This Chapter
In this brief scene, Dr. Bledsoe and the rest of the Volscians welcome the humans back to their camp. They're all excited to be back in the big city, but they're also worried that they'll be overrun by an army of enemy soldiers. They decide to hold off the attack until they can figure out a way to repel it. They also decide to use smokescreens to confuse the enemy soldiers, so that they won't be able to see them coming. They all agree that it's a bad idea, and they all rush off to die. Dr. Norton tells the group that he's now aware of his own fate. He realizes that his sin has led him to this point, and that the power that he stole from the Titan is now rightfully his. He's also aware of the fact that Frieda has more power than he does. She ate his uncle and his younger brother eight years ago, and she's been using them ever since. She knows everything about the world and how it all came to be. She's even fought human in the past.
