About This Chapter
In the aftermath of the coup, the king is declared dead, and the new government is in power. The people are shocked by the news, but they don't understand what to do now that the old regime has been overthrown. They're not sure what they're going to do with their lives now that they've lost the king, and they'd rather watch half of humanity die than let the rest of humanity go extinct. This is the first time he's ever really thought about the fate of humanity, and he doesn't like the way the revolutionaries treated him. He wonders why he didn't just let his comrades die, as he always does. He also asks why he spoke with pixis, since he never liked the revolutionaries. He's not interested in whether the revolution is good for humanity or bad for it, he says, because it's his turn to answer the question. He asks if he can take him to the estate to see what's going on there. Everyone at the estate is happy, but Maria's family has been massacred by bandits just days after her family was killed in the wall breach. Rod Reiss is planning to contact a blood line on the wall, which would allow him to become a titan. Rod is worried that he'll be eaten by a corpulent, but he thinks they'll have to wait a little longer before they can eat him.
