In this final chapter, the monster tells Lonrho that he is stronger than anyone else in the world. He says that he taught Lonrho how to use a knife so that Lonrho could survive in the dark. The two of them were on a "unstoppable path" of destruction, he says, for the "surviving remnants of humanity" . He asks Lonrho what it feels like to be the only survivor. Lonrho says that all of the men who fought against them have been crushed. He also says that the queen protected them from the "terrifying titans" with her delicate frame, but when her father went "out of control," she stopped him.
