The next morning, Volger and the rest of the soldiers go to the top of the wall to check on the progress of the battle. When they arrive, they find that the wall is still intact. Volger wonders if the battle is really over, and wonders why they haven't been able to find any of the giant creatures that attacked his village earlier. He wonders if they're still moving on the wall, and asks Volger to keep acting like he's the kind of guy who doesn't worry about his family.
