About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the marleyans have broken their chain of command and are ready to attack the city. The fleet is also on the move, and the army is ready to move in. The narrator tells us that this is the "ultimate test" of the marlyans' military strength, and that the entire division of the army must be brought down from the mountains. He also says that too little has been done to seal off the island. He urges the soldiers not to let the island devils escape. He tells them that the island is their enemy and that they need to destroy it. He says that they have already killed many of the island's inhabitants, including many children. He asks the narrator to distract the enemy so that they don't die. He adds that he will be able to "eat the war hammer Titan" if he can get away from the city as fast as he can. He warns the narrator not to look around the city because the enemy is already dead. He then tells him to get away as far away as possible from the area where the battle is taking place. He explains that the enemy will defeat the warrior unit there, so the narrator should stay with his family and wait for the battle to end
