In the main hall of the tournament grounds, the master and his assistant are waiting for the entrance. The master tells the assistant that he is glad to see how much the girl has grown. He tells her that she is on their watch list, and that he hopes that she will not be faked. The assistant tells him that she has won her first match and is sixth in her class. He says that he has decided that the best way for the girl to learn about the world was to be punished, and so they have entered the tournament. He compares her to a "gentlewoman" and says that they will win the tournament in a flash of an eye, but when it is a "delicate girl like her," they will lose.
