The narrator and his companions arrive at the gate of the monster's new home, which is described in great detail in the opening chapter. The narrator explains that the monster has come to visit his father, who was an active mage from the age of 15 until his death. The gate opens, and the three of them enter. They are greeted by the guards, who tell them that they have an urgent mission to complete.
