About This Chapter
The narrator introduces us to a young girl named Asuna, who is in her first year of college. She's a student at a Jesuit school, and the narrator tells us that she's the most popular student in the class. Asuna tells the narrator that she heard about her father's popularity and that he's "the truth is" . She asks the narrator to tell her about the love triangle she sees between her father, her best friend, and her "best" male friend. The narrator tells her to accept it as part of herself in order to "let go" of her love for her father. The girl wonders if this is really the solution to her love triangle, but the narrator points out that it's not quite the same as the solution she came up with. She wonders if the students would be bummed about the fight because of it, and she wonders if they'd go ahead and worry about their father because he was old. The teacher tells the girl that she has a problem that she can't talk about with anyone else, and that she needs advice about her dad. She tells her that she should start with Asuna and then she'll be able to figure out her own problems.
