About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn more about the life of the protagonist, who is a member of the elite company of soldiers known as Company 8. He is the son of a soldier who died of a heart attack last year. The protagonist explains that the company was formed to spy on the rest of the company, so that they would be considered traitors by the people of the empire. He wants to be the father of the new company. He explains that he is old enough to be a father and that he will do what he can to make the company into a family. He tells us that the army is trying to arrest the captain, and that they are working with the white-clad bozos. He says that he has to sacrifice shinra in order to summon him. He also says that if he were to fight against the empire directly, he would be a lieutenant. He adds that he does not give orders and that anyone who wishes to leave the company should do so. He knows that the day will come when the world will judge the company as traitors.
