It's been a while since the fire at the cathedral, but it's starting to look like they've put out the fires. They're starting to think about a new plan to fight the evangelist. They don't really know what's going on, but they do know that they need to figure out what the evangelists are trying to do. The narrator tells us that he's glad that the fire wasn't as bad as it was two years ago. He's also glad that there weren't more people killed in the fire than in the two-year-old fire. He also tells the narrator that company 8 has a plan to stop the evangelist, but that they're not bound by any rules of the temple. So they'll have to do it their own way. They have a rookie nun from the peninsula who's just been doing an ablution, and they'd like to have her join them. The nun tells them that she's given them her specimen of the adolla, and that she hopes they find some. She'll go to the spot where the evangelist is supposed to be doing his thing, and she'll be looking for signs of the evangelist and his adolla bursts. She and the other four will go investigate.
