In this chapter, we learn that the bug has decided that it's time for another experiment with Uncle Death. It's going to be the third time he's had to do it, and this time, he wants to see if he can do it himself. He asks Nataku to show him his powers, and Nataku says he can. Nataku asks him to help him do his job, and he says he doesn't understand how Uncle Death is able to do this. He says he likes to pick on the weak, and that's why he likes beating up on them. He's sick of all of the noise in his mouth, and wants to know why Nataku is so obedient and agreeable to the bug. He tells Nataku that he'll be his partner in the experiment, and when Nataku mentions that he remembers someone who was there, he remembers that person as Tephrosis.
