The girls are back inside the chapel, where they've been experimenting with their new powers of fire. They're all excited to see what's going on, and they're even more excited when they see that there's something green and orange in the mixture of chemicals. Sister Sumie tells them to hurry inside, because it's dangerous to burn things. Sister Hibana, meanwhile, is having a little fun with her new powers. She's all, "Ooh, that's cool, I'm going to use these powers to find out more about human beings" . Oh, and by the way, she's also got a new plan: she'll use her powers to collect "infernal specimens" from people, and then use that information to figure out what she needs to do with the rest of her research. She wants to find a place where she can do all of her experiments, and she wants to have a hero to help her out. She tells the girls that they were all orphans when they came to the convent, and that they didn't really have families, so they couldn't have heroes. They were all pretty and smart, but they had nothing. Well, she says, you can have one right here, and call him "my name" , and he'll help you out if you need him. He doesn't want to fight a man who won't help him, because he's not interested in that kind of fighting. He wants to see her beautiful flowers again, though, and so he asks her to join him in his experiment. He's got a secret: he wants to know the truth about spontaneous human combustion.
