As the battle rages on, Karin and his men try to escape. They're surrounded by enemy fire, and they don't know how to get out of it. Luckily, they have a guy with them who can fly. He's named Gernaut, and he's got a cannon that's about to blow up. Karin grabs the cannon and runs off to get it. The cannon blows up, and Gernaut grabs the captain's shield. The captain grabs the shield, and Karin runs off with it. He also grabs the left leg of the captain, which is pretty badly wounded. Gernaut and the captain rush off to help him, but the captain doesn't want to show any signs of weakness, so he grabs the shinra and flies off to rescue her.
