Back at the lab, Dr. Bledsoe and his assistant, Vulcan, are discussing the possibility of going to the "nether" , which is said to be connected to hell. They decide to go there, but they're not sure if they'll be able to go inside because of the holy nature of the place and the fact that there are so many people in it. They're worried that their mother will be mad if they find out they were there, so they decide to stay outside. They don't want to go in there because it's too dark, and they've heard that the place is cursed with "inhuman creatures" . But they can't go in because the sun god doesn't come out of the nether, and there's no way that they can see the rising sun from there.
