In another part of town, the captain and his men are confused about which way to go. They see a light coming from the left. The captain tells the others that he owes a lot to Dr. Giudanni, who gave him money when he had nothing. He says that if he hadn't given him the money, he wouldn't have been able to live with the heat of vulcan. He tells the captain to shoot the captain or he'll kill him. He also says that he's made some new equipment for the men to use to keep people safe. He thanks the captain for making the equipment, and says that it will save lives. He adds that he used to be a fire captain, but now that he works for the company, he wants to help protect everyone. He doesn't want to hurt the captain, he says, because the captain is going to kill a woman. But the captain coughs up, and the captain says that the captain's just annoying. He's not going to send the captain out.
