In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, the "maki" soldier, who has just completed his training. He is a little confused by the fact that the other soldiers have been trained to fight, but he does not understand why they have not been able to do so. He does, however, realize that he is able to control the "meteor" and that he has the power to "control it at will" .
