This chapter opens with a flashback to the events of the previous chapter, in which Lin kills all of the clan members except for the Bastard. The Bastard is furious with Lin for killing all of his slaves and for letting him down again. He curses Lin for acting so arrogantly against him, and he curses the jade dragon for shielding him from the fire. He vows to burn Lin down until he is gone. Lin asks to be left alone, but he is unable to bear the thought. He swears that he will follow Lin forever, and that they will all die after him. He is sure that Lin will kill him anyway. Lin is the stronger of the two, and the two are so powerful that they can't decide which one will win. Lin says that he is fine, but that Bastard was the one who was hurt. He wonders what will happen if he cuts off his head and pierces through his heart. He promises to kill Lin ten or hundred times more.
