This chapter opens with a soliloquy by Lin Ming, the leader of the lingling clan. He tells his son that he will spare Lin's life if he will let him go. He says that he was angry that gong couldn't bring him into the cave, and that Lin is still alive. Lin says that the flaming cells are stronger this time, and he wonders if they can save the leader. He thinks that the sky is returning to normal, and asks the clan elders to help him find the entrance to the cave. Senior lin tells the elders that the people of his clan are also trapped inside the cave and that they can't find the way out. He can sense a flaming person coming out of the cave entrance, and the elders should help the people first. He explains that he is the only one remaining in his clan, and they are all alive.
