This chapter opens with a flashback to last year's fire dragon tournament, in which feng kai defeated the dragon and was awarded the title of the "dragon warrior." Senior Lin is shocked to learn that the dragon has been defeated. He is amazed to find that the feng clan still has a member with him. Senior Lin tells the clan leaders to send their best warriors to the fire dragon's cave. This year, the clans will not have to rate each other as they did last year. The clans will also be allowed to send in their own people to participate in the tournament. This is great news for the clans, as they will be able to cultivate their own power. The clan leader asks Senior Lin to bring back the clan's sword, the "twin sword," to his family.
