About This Chapter
The opening act of the play opens with a 180-degree comeback by the hedge hogs, who have just finished an incredible song. As the curtain rises, the voice of the band's lead singer, tama chan, is heard in the background. He tells the audience that he is confident that the band can take on anyone, and that he has no attachment left to the group. He asks the audience to watch the show so that he can prove that he and the band are worthy of being called the "Hedgehogs." He then asks the crowd if they would like to see the band return with him as the vocalist. The crowd murmurs in agreement, and tama replies that he would not be able to do so, as he is the only vocalist in the band. He then tells the crowd that he wants to know if he can even sing for the band, because his heart raced when he first heard their songs. He says that they were his salvation in life, and he swore that someday he would surpass them in the singing contest. He compares the current singer to tama, and says that she has the same impact on the crowd as he does, but she has to convince everyone that she is worthy to be called the hedgehogs.
