In this chapter, we learn that Amaya's voice is "frail and light" , and that her performance at the festival was "disappointing" . Akira mogami comes to see Amaya, and he tells her that her voice "won't stick in the minds of people" if she continues as she is now. Amaya says that she can't do anything about her voice, because it's "being completely rejected" by the audience. She feels "scared" and "grateful" that she got to see something "rare" like this tonight. She says she's never seen a performer cry like this before, and she thinks that maybe she can change her voice. She tells Amaya that she needs to "work our hardest" at what she can do, and "show our listeners what is in our hearts." She tells him that she took "responsibility for my actions," and that she doesn't expect anyone else to do anything for her. She asks Amaya if she has a moment, and Amaya replies that they have already come to talk to her. They want to know what she plans to do about her "weak points," and she tells them that she hasn't thanked them yet for all they've done to get her into the festival. They don't know what to do, she says, and they shouldn't put on a performance that'll "disgrace" them. They haven't yet thanked her for all that she did for them, so they're just going to practice.
