About This Chapter
The manager of a company that's on the brink of bankruptcy tells the manager of another company that he's surprised that no one will lend money to his company. The manager says he'll work hard the next day to make sure the company doesn't have to go bankrupt. The drummer of the other company, Mikuma, asks the manager if the band they're going to be playing with is a real band. Mikuma says they are a "weekend band," which means they only play on weekends. He also says that they've only sold 700 tickets to the gig, which means that they don't even have enough fans to fill the 750-seat venue. The other manager, Blue Wells, asks Mikuma if the drummer is in mourning over the death of the company's chairman, who was 101 years old. He died today. He was the chairman of a client company, and he died a "full life," according to the drummer. The two of them are bummed that Mikuma's company hasn't been able to pay its bills, but the drummer says they still like Mikuma and the other members of the band. They've been playing together for a while now, and Mikuma thinks they'll be back on the scene soon.
