The scene opens at a restaurant called the "southwind sign" . The waiter, Yuu-san, and his companion, Akatsuki, have just returned from a long day at work. They are still waiting for their yaki soba to be ready, but the waitress, Haruna, is not satisfied with their work. She complains about the waiter's loud voice and the fact that he does not seem to know how to talk to other people. She asks the waiter to make her a fried soba instead of the usual fried rice, but he refuses, saying that it is a waste of time. She then tells him to go outside and " hose" the place so that it will not be a place where people come in and out. She also tells him that he is not good enough to be a waiter, because he has a weird voice. He tells her that he likes her voice because he is able to speak in front of many people. He then tells her to go home and get water for herself. He also tells her not to worry about the boy who passed out in the heat, because the lifeguard told him he would be fine.
