This chapter opens with a conversation between Fuyu and Yulan. Yulan asks Yulan if he is serious about saving up for their upcoming trip to the festival. He replies that he is, but that he needs to choose his words carefully and not make his girlfriend mad. He tells Yulan that he does not want her to "throw water on man" and that it is hard for a leader to pick up the check. He says that they have reached the "subiect" without her getting "mad." Yulan says that he and Fuyu have been living together for a long time, and that he has noticed that her toilet paper is always dirty. He wonders if she is talking about her "poop" and wonders if it is her "code word" for her poop. He asks if she was talking about it during the tour, and she replies that she was "stressing and hurting" during the trip. He adds that he was rooting for her now, and he says that she is "really cute"
