"How a girl feels" is the title of this chapter's opening scene. It's about a girl who's in love with someone and wants to go out and have fun with them. The girl asks the boy to go with her, but the boy is too shy to do so. He tells the girl that he's supposed to pass the "Twitter and lifeguard" test, but she's so good at it that she'll never be able to pass it. He also tells her that he doesn't like sports, so she should chill out and play with him. He asks the girl why she hasn't been swimming in the ocean in a long time, and the girl tells him that her mom used to go to the ocean a lot when she was a kid. She's still third in her grade, and all she knows is that her parents would be very proud of her. She also tells the boy that she wants to know all about akit-suki, the boy's father. The boy says that they're getting busy, and that they need to get back to the beach house. He's going to ask the guys to help, but they'll probably just come back in the water. When the boy asks if he can help, the girl says that he almost drowned, trying to save him. She says that she thought he was dead when she met him that day.
