The chapter opens with Hiroyuki's greeting to the other passengers. He tells them that he is a new kid in town, and that he has a weird face on his shirt. Hiroyuki tells him that he can do anything he wants with the shirt, and Hiroyuki replies that he does not know anything about the weird face. He says that he turned the shirt into a rag so that it would not get cold, and then he tells the passengers that he was looking at twitter while he was on the boat. The passengers are surprised to see that Hiroyuki is not doing anything with his new shirt, but he says that it is because the water in the boat is cold and the shirt has a hole in the fabric. He then tells the others that he will bring his cell phone to the boat so that they will be able to talk to each other when they get back to their homes. He is worried that the passengers will think he is ignoring them when he returns to his home. He hears a sign that says that if you go to the village as a couple, you can buy a CD for free. He thinks that this is a great idea, since he cannot buy the CD at the shop where he is staying. He also hears that the shop has limited stock of the CD, and he wonders why they do not have a cell phone.
