The police finally catch "uncle san." He's actually part of a human-trafficking ring that preys on children, people with intellectual disability, and mentally challenged victims. They usually kill them and then put them to sleep with an anesthetic. This time, however, they had a power cut and their freezers were out of power, so they put the girl to sleep. The police decide not to pursue the details of the case, but they do want to know how much money Uncle San has spent on his retirement. Uncle San says he's sorry, but he can't leave now because he still has other business to deal with. The funeral home tells Uncle San that he has to bring over the body of Lingzi for her funeral. He doesn't have time to find a wife for him, and he'll never be able to do so. A month later, in the same basement where Lingzi was found dead, two more bodies were found. They're not Lingzi's, they're the bodies of two other people who were found with an empty bottle of pills. The family is reunited.
