About This Chapter
In this second part of the story, Mr. Jarndyce tells his son to go away and help him fix the car. He also tells him to leave him alone and not to bother him. He says that they already broke up and that he doesn't love him anymore. He tells the boy to stay away from him and to not approach him every time he approaches him. It's time for him to go. He asks the leather artisan if he can feel the "closest distance between people" . The leather artisan tells him that he can do this by eating ting. The two men begin to argue about whether or not they should continue to separate.
