In this final installment of the "eerie shadows" series, Duan tells his son-in-law that the case has been closed, but there are still unanswered questions. Duan wants to test the drug on his own body, and he invites Duan to his home to do so. He tells Duan that the drug is the only lead they have on the case, and that he is going to try the drug himself. He asks Duan if he thinks the case is really necessary, and Duan assures him that it is. He says that he will take the drug as a keepsake, and if he does not return, he will burn the photo.
