The next morning, Hirohito and the rest of the men are still trying to figure out how to get back to Kagoshima. They've got a lot of work to do, but they're confident that they'll be able to make it to the city. The lieutenant tells them that he's been hacking the enemy's signals over the Pacific coast. He's going to use this hack to get a good look at the drone, so that he can launch the anti-ship missile. He also says that if he doesn't bring down the drone while it's in the air, he'll have no choice but to blow it to smithereens. He tells the lieutenant that he has to return the cape to the JGSDF headquarters, and then he says that he doubts anyone will want it back. He says that the retrieval unit kids will shoot like crap if they get shot down, but that's just the way it is. He asks the lieutenant what's wrong, and the lieutenant tells him that the drone is getting closer and closer to them. He then says that they have to move the missile team because the launch tube is getting full of water. The launch tube hits the escape sub, but the capsule is still intact. The capsule is going to shake the drone off of the launch pad, and it'll come back on its own. The men are convinced that the drones have been shot down by the genryu. The retrieval unit comes in to retrieve the cape.
