They're going to have to destroy all of the failed experiments in order to do this. The school's chimera, for example, was sent to the university as an experiment to see if it would be able to survive in the sun. The chimera's second year was even more successful than the first, because it was able to communicate with its host, the water flea. The water flea's message to the chimera is that it needs to get out of the way so that the sun can't destroy it. They need to get the other students away from the school so that they can get food and drink from a nearby missile truck. Sounds like a good plan, right?
