The next chapter begins with Dr. Manette's speech, in which he explains that he is a scientist and that he has invented a new technology that will allow him to communicate with the rest of the world. He explains that the new technology will enable him to track down the source of the information being beamed back to him by the "unnamed news planet" . He then launches into a long speech about how science is the key to understanding the world and how it will make the world safe from the effects of the sun's radiation . The speech is interrupted by the sound of a huge robot dinosaur breaking into the scene.
