This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the story, when the cat demon girl is being held in the dungeon. She tells her sister that she is innocent and that she has been falsely accused of badmouthing the girl's younger sister. The girl is shocked to learn that the entire demon clan is liars. She then tells the girl that her younger sister has been trying to save her from being locked up in purgatory. When she realizes that the girl is crying because she is afraid of him, she tells him that he is strong and bad tempered. He then tells her that he will defeat her today and take her place in purgatory, and that if she wants to challenge him, he should practice for a hundred years more.
