This chapter's epigraph comes from a line in the play. It's a line from the play's title sequence, in which the hero of the play tries to fight his way out of purgatory. He's about to do so when he's attacked by the monster who wants to eat his medicine. The monster throws the medicine into the air and yells at the hero to eat it. The hero doesn't want the medicine to poison him, but he does want to have a fight with the monster. He tells the monster to eat the medicine and he'll show him his true power.
