In the marsh, tanmeng finally has some water to drink. He's been cooped up in the marsh for days, but now he's finally able to eat some food. He asks if anyone else is there, and they tell him that they're all trapped in the cave. He tells them that he was one of the trapped souls before, but he was relegated to the city because he wasn't strong enough to hunt. Now, he tells them, he is coming to see them. He says that he'll take them to a place called "the human realm" , where they can go to hell and heaven. He also tells them to take a drink, because it's time to go back to the human world.
