This chapter's epigraph is from the opening lines of the previous chapter. It's a quote from a famous poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Longfellow's poem is about a young boy who stumbles upon a treasure chest full of soul tools. He's ecstatic to find a soul tool that can store a giant robot. He thinks that if he can figure out how to use the soul tool to help the giant robot, he'll be able to help Shreve. But first, he has to find out who's in the underground tunnel. He assumes that it's Du Busi, and then he realizes that it must be the old soul-beast embryo that he saw at the auction. He asks the man if he got it, and the man says that he did, and that he's going to take the embryo to his master. But then the man starts fighting outside again, so the man tells the man to go away. But the man doesn't want to leave, so he tells the guy to get the embryo and kill him. The man is shocked, but the man takes it anyway. The guy is so shocked that he starts to cry. He can't believe that the man is blocking his attack on the embryo. He wants to kill the man, but he can only kill the woman inside the tunnel. The woman is the leader of the top ten ferocious beasts in the world.
