The next day, the students are still waiting for Ming to return to school, but Ming is late. He tells the students that he has gone to the forest by himself, and that he is still late because he missed the school assembly day. Ming is angry that Ming didn't bring anyone with him to get his soul ring. Ming asks why Ming is crying like a girl, and Ming replies that he thought Ming was an honest student, who would have thought that Ming was selfish. Ming then tells the story of how Ming's soul ring was released, and how Ming got another tattoo on his back. Ming thinks that this tattoo is an ice-jade scorpion, and he wonders if it is related to his second soul ring, which was released when he fell into a treasure-vault. When Ming opens his eyes, he sees that the ring is a spiritual one, not a martial one.
