In this chapter, we learn that the main character, Huo Yuhao, is determined to fight his opponent, wu feng. He knows that if he loses the fight, he will not be able to return to class and will be looked down upon. He decides to fight even if he does lose, because he knows that he will be judged harshly by the other students. The other students, however, are not so sure. They believe that the opponent is stronger than he is, and that he is using his old soul ring to gain an unfair advantage. They also believe that he has given up on the fight and is giving up on his soul power. The martial soul tells the students that the fight is a friendly match and that both sides should take a step back if they do not believe in the opponent's soul ring. The two students agree that the match must be won, and the martial soul warns them that they should not severely injure the opponent. The students agree to the friendly match, but they are shocked when they realize that the other student is using her old ring instead of her new one. They are shocked that he does not want to use his new ring to fight her, and they are even more shocked when he realizes that she is using close range combat instead of using her new ring. He is shocked because he believes that she will use her third ring to defeat him, and he is not giving up.
