As the battle continues, Oreldo and the rest of the men worry about whether they'll be able to pass through the enemy camp. They're worried that the enemy will attack as soon as they get to the square, and they worry that they won't have enough time to get out of harm's way before the enemy does. They decide that it's better to be on the move, since the enemy can't wait to attack. They also decide that they should try to get away from the enemy on foot, since there's a lot of noise coming from the engine. They don't want to get into a fight with a gun, since that's too dangerous. They should also try and get away by bike, because the enemy is more likely to attack on foot than on a moving vehicle. They can hear the engine noise, and it'll make it easier for the enemy to attack by bike. If the enemy tries to attack with a knife, it will be harder for them to fight back. If they try to fight by gun, they're going to have to use a bunch of different weapons to do it. So they should just try to push on through. They feel like they've killed some "imperial scum" , and now they have to ask the gods for help. What's the point of asking the gods if you're not going to ask them for help? They've got to go help an officer, who's acting like a hero.
