As the soldiers prepare to leave, one remembers the scene from the previous chapter, in which a woman with scissors is shown to be a useful weapon. He says he'll fight the man, since he's a "one pump chump" who "sought people with drought" . He's also grateful for the job that hans has done. He thanks him for his "thankless job" , and says that he deserves a bigger share of the pie. He also says that if he were a member of the "Sterling wheel," he'd be the one to stop the assault. He tells the soldiers to drop their weapons, since they're all going to be killed in two weeks if they don't do something to him now. He asks if they can see him before they kill him, and they all mumble that they need to leave. They all jump up and down, trying to figure out what the heck is going on. They're sure that Coriolanus is nearby, and that's why he left the lieutenant position. They start up an armored vehicle with a hedgerow they were given as a title.
